I’m still here. I know it’s been a while…hopefully you’ve noticed. Confession: I am naturally an inconsistent person. I am as my grandfather drove. Press on the gas…..take your foot off and coast. Press on the gas…take your foot off and coast. And repeat. I’m sorry. I am working on it. It’s just that once school was out, so was I. And we were traveling a lot and reception was spotty. To be honest, it has felt good to step away for a bit and let my phone take care of its big-girl self without me hovering over it all day long. I have been working on things behind the scenes, as they say, which probably weren’t as high a priority as posting regularly, but I have been having fun. I’m stepping up my photography game with a Lightroom class (photo editing) and I have been working on creating my own photo surfaces (they are very expensive to buy and I do like to paint). You’ll see my first one in this post, as a matter of fact.
Anyway, I hope you’ll forgive my absence. I’m still here and I am ramping up again. And soon you’ll be hearing from me more regularly. In the interim, I offer you a new Clever Little Cocktail as a peace offering.
The Peace Offering
What you’ll need for one cocktail:
- 4 ounces “Lava Juice” (a combination of fresh strawberry and orange) I get this at Whole Foods. Watermelon juice is a great alternative.
- 4 ounces Dry Cucumber sparkling soda
- 2 ounces gin (this time I used Plymouth)*
- a thin slice of cucumber + a sprig of mint for garnish
How to make it:
Put the fresh juice and gin in a shaker with ice and shake it up well. Strain into a glass over fresh ice and top off with the cucumber soda. Add slice of cucumber and mint sprig for garnish.
*This is delicious without the gin – a great “mocktail.”
